Could Albanian <jerm> `delirium' be related to PIE root *ser- `to line
up' as a metaphorical use to characterize the speech, discourse (cf.
Lat. sermo, -onis < *ser-mon), especially if we agree that Alb.
<ligjëroj> `to orate, discourse' is derived from prefixed form lë-
*sora:-nyo > lë-*gjaronj > ligjëroj (cf. lë•bardh `to white',
lë•var `to hang'). Its derivative <ligjër•atë> covers fully Latin
<sermo, -onis>. In VP Alb. <flas jerm> `to speak in delirium> is
synonymic with <flas përçartë> `id.' <Përçartë>, to my view, is
prefixed form of <çartë> `quarrel, disagreement', probably from *tsh-
`dis' + *arH-to `to fit together'.
