Supposedly in -lev, -löv, -leben (Thuringia) ( < *leikW-) the -v- is
from -GW-, Verner-alternating with -xW- (German 'leihen'). I think I
recall that rule is controversial; another sign of the 'early' nature
of that root in Germanic (dialectal loan?).
