-As a rule unstressed subject pronouns is not used. Adding such
pronouns would be a greater change of speaking habits than repairing
with the i-ending.
-This was simply the most economic way to fix the problem cused by
loss of end consonants


IIn the germanic languages, the loss of distinctive features did not
cause any problems, because unstressed subject pronouns allready was
in use.
