Names usually are.

Common nouns like pheido:, peitho: and khreo: have solid IE
root etymologies, although I don't think there are any
parallel oy-stems outside Greek for these roots. Unless
peitho: (oy-stem) and fide:s (ey-stem?) can be equated
somehow.
