Giuliano Bonfante, "Studi Romeni" , Roma 1973. Article "Un mutamento
fonologico romeno di origine iranica: il rhotacismo di N
ntervocalico".
apparently the author sustains the rothacism of the intervocalic "n"
in Rom. (and implicitely in Albanian) should be of Iranian origin.
Are there some examples of Iranian words where the intervocalic "n" (
stil present in other IE languages) is present in Iranian as "r"?
Alex
