There appears to be some trouble which are not at all clarifyed. Marius
called the pair "strung�-shtrung�" for showing the "str-" there even if
from an "albanoid" substrate. What disturbs me is the different
treatment of "str-" in actually Albanian. There is an "shtr-" which is
equivalent of Rom. "str-" but there is too an "st�r-" for the same Rom.
"str-". Maybe some examples will help:
stVr= strV
st�r= as particle for the German "ur-"
st�rgjyush - str�mosh - Urgro�vater
st�rnip - str�nepot - Urenkel
st�rpik - stropi - giessen ( stropi < strop = related to German
"tropf", via Slavic?)
if Alb. "st�r-" here is related/from Latin "extra" then the treatment is
very curious since the st > st and not "sht"
Assuming they are from Latin "extra" , then what about Alb.
"shtVr-/stVr-"
shterp� -sterp - unfruchtbar
shtarron - tare (about drinks)- strong (Alb. = bitter, I am the one I
see similar senses here)
again, what about shtr- versus str-
shtr�mb - str�mb -schief
shtr�ngon - str�nge - streng
shtrig - strigoi - Geist (von Untoten)
shtrung� - strung� - Melkh�rde
So, now which is which in tese examples. which of them are "Albanoid"
and which not?
