A couple of corrections: "Järveä" is partitive, not inessive
Litterlly the expression "keskellä jerveä" means "on/upon the middle
of the lake".

keskellä may be used as an adverb/postposition, but then you would
say either järvellä... keskellä =(on the lake...on the middle)
without any intimate connection between the two words.

or

"järven keskellä" - on the lake's middle (with genitive).
