Sorry, Vytautai, but I'm somehow still inclined to believe those
Lithuanian dialectologists who registered this word in LKZ^, the more
especially as your arguments don't make any sense to me: for
starters, obele:~le: 'apple-tree (dim.)' (Z^em. [ûobelie~le]) is not
a derivative of [ûobouls] -- it's a transparent diminutive derivative
of <obelìs> 'apple-tree'; and even if it were, how could the
desinence of a *suffixal* derivative tell us anything about the
desinence of the base word?

What about reading Zinkevic^ius' introduction? You'll undoubtedly
enjoy the book.
