What's the *hoi- based on? The Oxford Latin Dictionary says "_hemon-_
old form acc. Paul. Fest.p.100M.", though this may be due to confusion
with _hemonem_, the acc.sg. of homo, for which the same ref. is given
s.v. homo. But it doesn't mention a spelling with hoi-, which would be
even harder to account for than hu:-.
