I'm curious. From what does the Germanic term owe its origin then?
Interestingly, there is also Etruscan /ati/ "mother" and, if I get
my way, the same word which opens the Minoan Libation Formula,
theoretically referring to the goddess A-SA-SA-RA-ME "Asherah"
further on in the repeated inscriptions (ie: "mother of the gods").
Is the origin of the word known for certain? Can I suspect it as
being Tyrrhenian without people getting mad at me :)
