Ha ! one gives once the form of the verb in 1 sg and you are quicking
around. Of course is not "to love" but "I love".

a regressive one from *drãgi

phoneticaly di:ligere may have given "drãg^" ( which is actually
present in "îndrãgi") and from "drãgi" we have a regresive derivate
"drag" (dear) < drãgu < diligo (I love)
