Yes, it is astonishing how easy it is to do that. It is telling that
all one has to do to completely kill the very idea under discussion
is suggest that things were normal and show how little extra
assumption it takes to imagine them being originally normal. Then
the whole thing falls flat on its face. That is a very bad sign.
