Dissimilation is not unmotivated; it is motivated by the phonetic
environment itself. It is mostly not a regular event, which is why
some won't accept it and so have trouble when it happens anyway. In
the present case it may be regular, but that is hard to know; still,
without help I fail to see other cases of unaccented *-soz or *-syoz
that could not be analogical.
