To my view, if we deal with the root *sworgH- 'diseas, sickness',
first we have verbal suffix -yo (that cause palatalization of the
velar) *sworgH-yo 'to be sick' > *dargj, that latter became *dargjë <
*sworg-yo-ah2, through pluralised singular, <dergjë>. Verb
<dergjem> 'to be sick, to lie down' is therefore very recent
denominal.
But, because the verb <dergjem> `to be sick' and <keqem> `to lose
one's health' are synonymic pair, I am afraid that Alb.
<dergjë> `sickness' should be prefixed form of metathetic variant of
*ad- + airgi-_o (<aig-ro > i egër `wild, bad' and *ko-aigi-_o- > i
keq `bad', Pokorny, *aig- `sick, ill').
