Atlas is "the one who endures" (he carries the world on his shoulders), so
the a- is not privative *n.- *tl.h2-ant-s normally gives Greek tala:s,
talantos. I suppose Atlas, -antos is derived from the other expected
variant *Tla:s, *-antos with prothetic a-.
