Other Romanian examples that occur to my mind ad-hoc: <des>
(1) many, extremely numerous (e.g. as of hairs); (2) dense,
thick < Lat. dens- And <a pãsa> chiefly "to care; be
concerned" < pensare (the participle thereof <pãsat> is
a homophone of the recently discussed noun <pãsat> (sort of
food) that is a variant of <pisat> < verb <a pisá, -are/-at).

Other losses of nasals preceding other consonants in
Romanian: e.g. the regional <genuchi> and <pãiagen> for
the standard <genunchi> "knee" and <pãianjen> "spider,"
as well as <delicvent> & <delincvent>, where both are
standard.

So, no exotic occurrence at all.
