Indeed: pisat [-'-] is the past participle of a pisa (> pisare).
Plenty of milling-grinding connotations. Moreover, in certain
Daco-Romanian subdialectal regions (such as my own), people
don't use the standard Romanian pãsat, as mentioned above,
but pisat, which in other areas isn't known for this specific
semantic context. (The Romanian DEX actually contains both
forms.)

BTW, Germ. Pfister (for Bäcker) < OHG pfistur < Lat. pistor.
