Pokorny thinks so, and reconstructs a root (eu-1) that could only be
*h1wah2- in laryngeal terms. Gmc. *wana- would then have to be derived from
*u-ana- < *h1uh2-ono-, while Lat. va:nus < *h1wah2-no-. Calvert Watkins
