I can hardly imagine what would be the source of *e^ in Slavic *xome^storU
in that case. A folk-etymological rebuilding? I also vaguely remember
Trubachev's Slavic etymology: from *xome^-storU 'in the cheeck pouches
(dual) - putting'. Not that *xom- and *stor- etyma looked familiar to me...
