that was clear so far, I could follow it since I mentioned the Germanic
"Berninghausen".
I thought that the group *ing- should has been seen as a ligature here,
this is why I asked.
At least in "Berninghausen" a supperficial view will split it in
bern+ing+hausen , thus "ing" could be interpreted as such, but it seems
this is not the same thing as in Bermingham.
