Avestan xs^v- < *sw- (cf. xs^vas "6", xs^vi:d- "milk"). xs^vma > xs^ma.

The Greek form is a dual, with sph- < *swh3-. The laryngeal provides the
aspiration, the /w/ provides the labiality. Won't work without the *w.
