What is strange for me ...is that somebody else that isn't a
NATIVE speaker of 'tri', try to tell me (and to others like me too)
what I 'really' said when I pronounce 'tri'...and if I 'don't
understand' 'their correct spelling' of what 'I pronounced myself',
I'm 'very stupid' or 'illiterate'...and I don't know 'phonetics'...
Strange logic here (but I found this logic very often in today
Romania, applicable to a lot of cases).
I do not consider that I know better than the others (in
contrary, linguistic is a hobby for me, due to my mother, but I have
another job and other studies not related to linguistic), see my
postings on this forum to see how many time I accepted other
opinions, or I came back to correct my opinion when I
wrote 'stupidities' here...It doesn't matter if I'm wrong or You are
right, it is important to find out 'how it really is'...
But in this case, once again, as a NATIVE speaker, I wanted ONLY
to say to you and to George (that you are not NATIVE speakers
of 'tri') that is NO DIPHTONG there...trust me, NO DIPHTONG there, is
all I can say.
But at the end, you can suppose what you want regarding 'tri'...or
anything else, I will not insist any more on this.

P.S. Also you can suppose that '-oi' is never a suffix in
Romanian...
