Buddhism prohibits the use of any intoxicants, whether alcohol or other
drugs in order to achieve clarity of thought. So the decline of soma use,
if it were a drug, with the rise in popularity of buddhism makes sense.
PS: It sounds like you got a thing against buddhists. Is it because you'd
lose your marbles in a world lacking mead? :) I have yet to taste it.
