Alright, that's interesting but how does that fair when one connects
*peku to *pek- "to comb". It would seem to me that the word is better
connected to "domesticated sheep" than "dogs". I suppose one may
comb dogs to get fleas out (certainly not to make wool products unless
we're dealing with sheepdogs... hehehe) but it doesn't seem like a
sturdy etymology to me.
