From what I understand, with a sequence *sw, some branches lose the *w,
while others appear to retain it. So, if that's the case, *sweks and *swe
should be reconstructed for *seks and *se.
Coincidently, just as there is a Semitic correlate in *s^- for IE *sw in
*sweks,
there is another *s^- connection involving IE *swe "oneself". It looks
suspicious. As far as I'm concerned *swe is a loan and not to be connected
with Uralic *sa. Uralic *sa should be connected with IE *so, a
demonstrative, which I feel was inherited, not borrowed.
