There is no majority agreement on position of Dalmatian among
Romances. The wisest thing to do is to consider it having both
Italo-Romance and Balkano-Romance characteristics. Anyway, that
makes it Italo-Eastern.

No, as repeatedly stated here: this was the main cause for most
original Romanian innovations with respect to other Romances.

That looks rather poor. Can you mention any serious source which
"accepts" that Pre-Romanians got some sabbatical centuries in the
mountains in order to break any links with Western Romance?!
The real explanations are historical conditions in Danube region
and in the Balkans.
