I've started a new group for discussion of Aegean history and
language and the Linear writing systems. I'd really like to learn
from knowledgeable people on the subject of Indo-European dialects
in Anatolia and Greece, and theories about the pre-Indo-European
languages of the area, as well as the archaeology. I have invited
Prof. Gareth Owens of the TEI at Heraklion to join. (You should
check out his Kritika Daidalika collection of essays, very
informative, for me anyway). You're all invited to join too. The
only criteria are that a) your posts must be in intelligible English
or in a language for which you can find a competent volunteer to
translate for the group, b) must stay at least tangentially related
to the topics of Minoan and Mycenean studies. (Got that, Slawomir
Miroslawski? Despite or perhaps because of that fact that you seem
completely off your rocker, I bear a strange affection for you. But
other very valuable contributors to the linguistics lists seem not
to have much patience for your antics, and I don't want to alienate
them).
