Piotr's closing of the Thrakai thread, justifiable as it may be,
precludes the possible solution of a historical problem: What became
of the three thousand pounds of pepper that Alaric the Goth famously
demanded as part of the ransom of Rome in A.D. 408? If Egijus'
etymology ("place name CHIOJDENI can mean THE PLACE, INHABITANTS OF
WHICH ARE SNEEZING") is correct, clearly we may infer that it was
transported to Dacia, where Alaric assigned his Lithuanian cohorts
(previously unknown) the task of grinding and repacking. :-)
