Not directly, but there is a semantic link. The name "Veneti" is usually
etymologised as *wenh1-eto-, from the same root that underlies Lat.
venus/veneris (*wenh1-es-) and Skt. vanate 'be pleased, desire'. It has
to do with what a *pesnos uses his *pesos for.
