is this word ( i lum) not given as a derivative of Latin "lumen"?
The Rom. word "luminã"= light has stil no etymology. There are some
scholars which see it as a derivative of "lume"= world as in Slavic ,
thus they try to see there a Latin lumen + Suff. "-ina", but I guess
last year we discussed this lumen-lumina here on cybalist.
