Greetings. This list is great and I am glad to be recieving it now. I am a graduate of UC Berkeley (majored in Geography) and am going to enter graduate school a year from now. I wrote my senior honors thesis on Indo-European origins and am looking to pursue this fascinating subject during my year off and in graduate school.

For one of the projects I have thought of doing in or before graduate school I need to get a reliable list of Indo-European roots. I have searched this group and found the Pokorny list, but I have heard he is not the most rigorous linguist and it's not smart to trust the work of just one man besides. Can anyone direct me to other reliable lists of roots so that I may create a compiled list by cross-referencing the sources. Paying money to buy books is not a problem (unless it is exorbitant). Thank you very much for your help.

PS If you have suggestions for a good graduate school please let me know! Right now I'm excited about applying to UCB (where I went as an undergraduate, the Geography department is very good), and Queens University at Belfast (Mallory is there). Thanks for any tips
