I'm well aware of that. But the histories of chromosome Y and
mitochondrial DNA belong to _different_ trees in the first place, and
they have little if anything to do with the "racial" history of the
individual in whom they intersect. You get your chromosome Y from just
one of your four great-grandpas, you get your mtDNA (which doesn't
significantly affect your appearance, BTW) from just one of your four
great-grandmas, and together they're only a tiny part of your entire
genotype.
