1. You understood my point about the meaning carried by a pair of
consonants (but disagreed).

2. The consonants with the associated meaning are r-ng, not k-r.

3. This is a matter for http://groups.yahoo.com/group/austronesian ,
not for http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cybalist .

Blust would say Austronesian 'roots' are mostly false. :)

If you're right about the meaning, you can add English and
Malay 'sarong' to the Austronesian 'root'.
