hmm.. world is strange enough. Rom. "ogar" = hunting dog is seen as a
loan from Hungarian "agár" (meaning=?)
Even admiting loosing of "s" from an older "*sogar" the k^Won does not
look as being the root for it.Where from should come the "g" there?
As for Latin "canis", you have seen the possible Thracian "kan-"
discussed in Pokorny.
