We observe that the word is not identicaly in Rom. and Alb. They have
different suffixes.
The next observation should be that there is no way to get an /o/ to /a/
in Rom.
There is explained a change of Slavic /o/ in /ã/ at the end of the words
for feminine but nothing else.
There are some diminutival forms which point out a protoform as "*mede-"
( "mezeriche" for the usual "mãzãriche").
Thi swill mean there should have been a root as "mVd-" which evoluated
in "mod-" in Albanian and "med-" in Romanian.
I guess the word is related to the meaning of "sweet" ( see Rom. "mied"
and Lithuanian "midus")
