Another suggestion: When a thread goes off on a
tangent, the title should be appropriately changed

with only the first communication of the new focus

That is a very important suggestion

 which I implore people to follow. I don't care about the etymology of  church words but would hate to miss other discussions which have gone in under the radar of that subject heading. End up having to open em all anyway just in case. bah.
