There is no answer in what Miguel showed. Miguel showed as usual the
phonetical transformation . I speak here about the religious term.
The word "patruzecime" is a Romanian construct which shows the
meaning of the Latin *guadragessima. This is sure a calque in
Romanian.
But you guys you do as follow:
You take a Latin word, you change it, you give it in romanian where
there is no felt as meaning something regarding to numerals, and you
assume this is inherited. Inherited? So, we know that "patru" <
quattor is something , a numeral, all the derivatives of it make
sense, but the latin word does not make any sense, just in the
religious way as "Lent". And that call you "inherited"?
To me it looks like a loan. A loan where people knew just the sense
of it "Lent" but they could not make any connection with "four".
And we cannot put on the same level a vord as "patru" which make
sense and we are allowed to say "inherited" with a word almost
strange "pãrãsimi" ( singular with stem of plural, absolute alien for
Romanian), and to call it "inherited". It looks like a loan.
