One can olso think at the unexplained habbit of suffixing a word with
"-ne". Examples:
tata +ne > tãtâne
frate +ne > frãTâne
They look like vocative forms but they aren't, whereby I have to mention
that the vocative forms of "tãtâne" or "frãTâne" is the same as the
nominative one in a such case. The problem for "prieten" is that the
form is nowhere mentioned as "prietâne" and it is simply "pretin" or
"prietin" or "prieten" in the dialectal forms.
The Slavic verb "prIja-ti made a class IV verb in Rom, " a prii"= to
agree to someone, to be benefic/favorable to someone
the derivatives are "prielnic" (favorable), "neprielnic" (
unfavorable),"priinTã" (favorable attitude), "priincios" ( favorable).
The "n" here is a part of the suff. "-inTa".
DEX gives the verb a prii from slavic "prijati" ( there is no yer in the
way how the word is written in DEX). The meaning of "prii" is , in my
opinion the one of South Slavic "priadno".
Piotr, is "priadno" just a conjugated form of "prIjati"?
