The former British ambassador to Denmark, James Mellors, called the
Danes a tribe, not a nation, and compared our procedures of reaching
decisions with those of the Ashanti (he was ex-ambassador to Ghana
too). My English sister-in-law says the Danes are heathen.

As for as I'm aware, no one in my country lives by sword and shield.
But there are groups or "tribes" that are news to foreigners but not
to us. Eg. they say that a ship should never have more Bornholmers
aboard than masts. Just in case it becomes necessary to tie them to
something.
