The closest thing to an original source on the Web is a highly
unsatisfactory Discovery Channel news story at

Not having the text of Stesichoros (particularly a newly
discovered fragment?), I'll speculate that if he indeed mentioned a
Trojan woman Roma (or the like), any connection to the village (town
maybe) on the Tiber that was Rome in his lifetime is as bad a back-
reading as the association with Rome of Reumah, Abraham's (or his
brother'?) concubine in Genesis 22:24, which Alex favored us with a
few days ago.
