But *k^wr can be treated as kWr instead of *k^ur ?  Or some kind of metathesis took place *k^wr- > *k^ru ?

seems *k^

You can't rely on Albanian and East Baltic when *k^ was followed by a
liquid. They provide no evidence either way rather than point to *kW, so
Sanskrit evidence can be regarded as decisive.
