How I said, Rosetti does not show any "-anus" there.The one suffix
which play the role of Latin "-anus" is Rom. "-ean". But this one
cannot derive from latin "-anus", it must derive from an
"-enus"
Cluj+ean Clujean like Roma +anus = Romanus
Harghita+ean > Harghitean etc, etc etc
If you remember well /e/ can too > /â/ and for /e/ speaks Albanian
"remër"
Does the latin /o/ became /e/ in Albanian Romanus > Remër?
Or better say pomus > pom, but Romanus > Rumân:-))) In the old texts
in Romanian Rome= Râm and Romans= Râmleni
Do you have any idea about how Roma > Râm and romanus > râmlean ( see
here again -ean)
Or better says, Alöb. "rem-" from "remër" looks very appropiate to
Romanian "râm-" . No one of them has the "o" or the "u" there.
how is this to explain? Let me guess.. Relatinisation of the language
in the XVIII century?
