It's quite interesting that in Albanian, the seconda element -ber was
treated as suffix, so we have: shtat-or 'Septemeber', tet-
or 'octomber', nënt-or 'november' and dhjet-or 'december'. Much older
forms for the first three months are: britmi i parë 'first autumn',
britmi i dytë 'second autumn' and britmi i tretë 'third autumn'. It
seems that britmi, probabely from *bhr.to-m 'the furtunitus' was
synonym of autumn 'vjeshtë' (for me, a deverbative of the verb
vjel 'to gather, to collect'). Taking in account that nasal /m/ in
closed syllable is mostly turned in cluster /mb/, I wonder could we
may have another explanation, like treated -er as suffix.
