The development -ll- > -w- only applies to word final -lla.
Elsewhere, ll > l (pelle > piele "skin", caballu > cal "horse"),
except before i (Latin i:) where we get *l^ > y (e.g. galli:na >
gãl^inã > gãyinã = gãinã).
