I've also seen white tiger as alternative to
ki-lin, and azure dragon as opposed to a green dragon. In geomancy or
feng shui, I understand there are two dominant types of "dragon
lines", blue dragon and white tiger lines, with blue dragon
represented yang , while white tiger represents the aspect of yin
I wodner if there is any comparison between the 4 mythological
animals of China and the 4 Chaldean genii, appearing as a lion, a
bull, a man, and an eagle. Or, as a bull with human face, lion with
human head, human, and eagle with human head
Also found in composite form in Ezekiel:"As for the likeness of their
faces, the cherubim, they had a face of a man; and they four had the
face of a lion on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox
on the left side; they four had also the face of an eagle."
or
Revelations 4:6-7: "The floor around the throne was like a sea of
glass that was crystal-clear. At the very center, around the throne
itself, stood four living creatures covered with eyes front and back.
The first creature resembled a lion, the second an ox, the third had
the face of a man, while the fourth looked like an eagle in flight"
