So was I :-). Speakers of English are usually astonished when told that there is no etymological connection between <cook> and <cookie>.

BTW, is *dolja a valid PSl. reconstruction? Isn't the word a rather recent loan from Lithuanian (<dalia, dalis> from <dalyti>) into East Slavic and Polish?
