difficulty of relating modern Albanian to ancient
Illyrian. Would you care to dispute this? Or the view
that a better case can be made for Albanian being a
development from ancient Dacian? Now I understand (as
a non-linguist) that Piotr's views are not cast in
stone. But if the above is correct, then the fact that
the Slavs arrived in Illyria after the Illyrians has
little if anything to do with the relationship between
Slavic and Albanian.*******
