hmm.. interesting. Interesting should be the cognates in Rom. Lang for
"mar"
mare= big
a mãri= to make famous, to show his qualties , simply to make him "big"
how ever:))
The rom. "mare" = big ( not mare= sea) is given , clear, from Latin
maris. The semantism does not play any role here.
