Is there anything in slavic which begin with "ne" and should mean "new"?
I guess there is not. The slavic reflex should be "no-".
The "ne" is seen as negatvie particle. Take a look at "niet, nema, ne, "
or nevolnja for instance. In this case none will say "ne" has something
to do with "new".
The alternative with particle "na-" which should show a future action
will have troubles in becoming "e" in slavic I guess.
