I really don't see how one can ignore the established connections of the
various branches of what we would call "Altaic" for the idea that they
are somehow unrelated in the end. Why on earth then do they share such
similar morphology and vocabulary? It can't _all_ be from loans. If we
take away the "Altaic" elements, what do we have left?? It's funny how
the Altaic opponents don't seriously elaborate on that.

Afais, if the opposing hypothesis can't be stated in ten words or less,
it's not worth considering.
